In the context of sustained growth and a significant volume of strategic matters, the firm is seeking a senior tax planning lawyer to strengthen its team and support clients on complex, high-value transactions.

The Role

As a senior tax lawyer, you will play a central role in major transactional matters and corporate reorganizations, advising private companies, corporate groups, entrepreneurs and investors. You will work closely with business law teams, internal tax professionals and external advisors on structuring mandates.

The role offers a high level of autonomy, active participation in strategic decisions and the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of the firm’s tax practice.

Responsibilities

  • Advise business clients on complex corporate and transactional tax planning matters
  • Structure acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations and financing transactions from a tax perspective
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term tax optimization strategi
  • Draft and supervise tax opinions, memoranda and transaction-related documents
  • Collaborate closely with corporate teams and other specialists on multidisciplinary matters
  • Analyze tax implications of cross-border transactions and corporate restructurings
  • Supervise more junior lawyers and contribute to team development
  • Maintain direct client relationships and participate, as desired, in business development initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant tax experience, ideally in private practice
  • Master’s degree in taxation or equivalent specialized training (strong asset)
  • Strong expertise in corporate and transactional tax planning
  • Ability to manage complex files with autonomy and sound strategic judgment
  • Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen and client-focused mindset
  • Leadership, rigor and collaborative approach
  • Bilingualism (French/English) considered an asset
