In litigation, every deadline matters. You will play a central role in managing files and ensuring their careful coordination.

This opportunity is available with a law firm known for the quality of its legal services and work environment. You will collaborate daily with construction litigation professionals who stand out for their professionalism, drive, and team spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Open new client files and compile retainers, correspondence, supporting documents, and other relevant materials
  • Manage the lawyers’ calendars, including scheduling appointments, meetings, hearings, trials, and court appearances
  • Ensure efficient management of files, deadlines, and timelines
  • Prepare standard litigation pleadings and court documents
  • Draft, edit, review, and format various legal documents
  • Review documents to ensure linguistic quality, consistency, and compliance with firm practices
  • Communicate by telephone and email with the various parties involved in the files
  • Maintain organized paper and electronic filing systems
  • Follow up on files and correspondence
  • Prepare client billing
  • Support the other legal assistants on the team as needed

Requirements

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in Secretarial Studies with a legal specialization
  • At least two years of litigation experience
  • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Perfect command of French
  • Excellent organizational and priority-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Accuracy, rigour, and close attention to detail
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently
  • A team-oriented and collaborative approach
